- Start with the guard at a longer setting than you think you need - set the dial to 4 or 5 and reduce from there. Going too short in one pass is how you end up uneven
- Tilt the head at a slight angle rather than pressing it flat to the skin - a flat head builds heat and causes the blade to catch
- Use short, one-inch strokes in the direction of hair growth - long strokes drag across changing skin geometry, especially on the neck and jaw
- Use light pressure - if you're pushing down to make the blade catch, the blade is overdue or the angle is wrong
- Remove the guard for edge work: beard lines, sideburns, moustache. Same technique - slight tilt, short strokes, no pressure
- Rinse the head under running water after each use
- Replace the MicroBlade every three months - sooner if it starts tugging or pulling
