The 23C has been in production in one form or another since the 1920s. That's not a marketing point - it's a track record.
A three-piece DE razor with a long handle, closed comb, and the spacious Merkur blade gap that keeps lather moving and the head clean between strokes. Brass handle, die-cast zinc head, bright chrome throughout. Simple, well-made, and still relevant a century after the design was first introduced.
Made in Solingen, Germany.

Shavers who want a traditional three-piece DE razor with a longer handle - the extra length suits larger hands and gives more reach for neck and jaw work. A strong entry point for DE shaving beginners who prefer the simplicity of a three-piece over a two-piece, and a reliable daily driver for experienced wet shavers who appreciate a classic format without complications.

Why MASC Recommends This
A design that has been in continuous production since the 1920s doesn't need much justification - the 23C works, plainly and reliably, for a wide range of shavers. The long handle suits beginners who want more to hold onto while learning the angle, and the three-piece construction makes it the easiest razor in the Merkur line to clean thoroughly. A straightforward, honest DE razor from a brand that has been making them in Solingen for over 125 years.
