Ryan Steele & Rob Goddard: August Masced Men of the Month

What is the MASCED MAN campaign all about?

We want to shine the spotlight on some familiar faces and highlight the success they've had in their careers, in addition to sharing their thoughts on how skin care and grooming fits into their daily regimens. As they say, "Confidence breeds success" and at MASC, we strive to provide you the tools and information necessary to maintain a healthy and well-groomed appearance in a simple, no-fuss manner.

By doing so, it'll give you that little extra boost to help you to better tackle the day-to-day challenges in your busy lives and achieve the goals you've set for yourself.

Meet Ryan Steele & Rob Goddard

For those of you that have been watching the current second season of The Amazing Race Canada, you'll recognize Ryan & Rob as the team of co-worker/bartenders from right here in Vancouver. They have been long time customers of MASC and we're thrilled to see how well they're doing on the show!
Learn a little more about their experience on The Amazing Race Canada as well as what their skincare routine is and what their favorite MASC products are below.

What was the hardest part about competing in The Amazing Race Canada?

RYAN: The hardest part about competing in The Amazing Race was directions and our inability to find some places. So freaking hard.

ROB: Hardest part about competing in the Race would have to be being stuck in last at a challenge and not knowing where you are in the race.

What was something you learned about your teammate that you didn't know before the competition?

RYAN: What I learned about Rob is that he is a machine! He figured out how to tie up the dogs in the Yukon, he figured out Fan Tan in Macau, and... well you'll see. Just enough for me to forgive him for the tea at the Empress. ;)
ROB: I learned that Ryan never gives up. No matter how hard and stressful the challenge is, he kept going.

What do you like most about living in Vancouver?

RYAN: The thing I like most about living in Vancouver is the weather. I actually love rainy days. And I love the air here. I always appreciate it when I get back to Vancouver from another city and I get to breath our amazing air again.
ROB: I love Vancouver for its nature. We have these beautiful mountains surrounding us and we're right by the ocean. We also don't get the extreme weather like other parts of Canada.

What is your morning skincare / grooming routine?

RYAN: My morning skincare/grooming routine is washing my face and then moisturizing with whatever Masc Product I have at the time. I usually exfoliate my skin every 4 or 5 days in my morning shower with Urth Face Scrub.
ROB: I'm very easy. I wake up, shower, brush, moisturize and slap on some deodorant.

When did you start getting into skincare and why?

RYAN: I started getting into skincare when Masc opened. I love supporting friends and local businesses. And I guess my skin benefits as well!
ROB: I started getting into skincare back when I was 17 years old. I always had bad acne growing up so once I moved to Vancouver I started taking better care of my skin.

What is your favorite MASC product?

RYAN: My favorite Masc Product is the Triumph & Disaster Gameface Moisturizer. My face just loves it!
ROB: I really like the (Malin_Goetz) Peppermint Body Scrub. I've always been a fan of the mint smell with products.

What types of products did you take with you while on The Amazing Race Canada?

RYAN: I took the T&D Gameface Moisturizer on The Amazing Race Canada. I also took my Urth Face Scrub and Just For Men beard dye! Wooo!
ROB: Being on the Race, you want to pack as light as possible so I brought the basics. Deodorant and toothpaste/toothbrush. I would sample all the free soaps and moisturizers from all the places we stayed in. Found some good ones :)

What product do you think your teammate needs the most?

RYAN: I think Rob needs deodorant. That boy got gamey sometimes.
ROB: The product that Ryan would need the most would definitely have to be hair product. She's always worried about her hair! LOL.

What "amazing" adventures are next for you?

RYAN: The next amazing adventures for me are turning The Ryan and Amy Show into an actual TV show! We are working on it and excited to take it to the next level. I'm also excited to go to Toronto in September and see all the cast of ARC2 again for the live finale!!!
ROB: I'm not sure what the next amazing journey will be. I always seem to end up on some adventure somewhere.
