I got this to fill out an order that had the pre-shave & the shaving cream. Great trio. The smell does last quite some time. I find if I'm tired of the scent, using a moisturizer (aveeno face & body with spf) cancels the smell almost immediately. I am told this scent is less strong than many other sandalwood concoctions. I do like it but I'm glad I found an off switch.
