(Malin+Goetz) Detox Scalp Mask (118ml)

I decided to try this product, as I was looking for something to help purify and detox my scalp, which tends to suffer from chronic dryness due to eczema, and this seemed to fit the bill.

First off, the pros:

-It smells wonderful. Like seriously heavenly

-Nice gel-like texture is easy to apply and spreads well

-Has a gentle and pleasant tingle effect when left in for 3-5 mins

And now the cons:

-Honestly, I'm not sure that it's actually doing much?

-The instructions say to use this on dry hair, and to then either rinse out or follow up with shampoo. From my experience, as someone who uses a fair amount of product in their hair, rubbing this into my scalp, while product is still in my hair seems counterproductive, and not very effective. It would have to be used on hair that has nothing in it, which is an extra step. Not ideal

-The product claims that it is a "gel-to-foam", which I took to mean that once applied to your scalp, it would produce some kind of foam or lather. It does not. While the gel texture is initially easy to apply, if you continue to massage the product in (as it direct you to do) the gel starts to dry a bit and quickly becomes tacky. This was not the experience I was expecting.

From my own experimentation, I have found that this product seems to be more effective for me when I shampoo first and then use the scalp mask after. The product actually foams when I do this, and I feel like it gets out all of the last traces of residue in my hair, without making…
